The first training weekend for the WMAA Panantukan Apprenticeship Program was held the weekend of Nov 14th. Friday nights session started off with the basic punching, striking and kicking to set the foundation for the remainder of the weekend. The Parry Drill got everyone’s heart racing prior to working on some trapping. Saturday started with a quick review then continued where we left off the evening before. As usual Datu Tim Hartman systematically brought us through several presets in the program in a progressive manner. This allowed the class to be able to link the material together so that there was a flow in technique as well as functionality. At the end of the Panantukan module, Datu Tim Hartman gave us some bonus material by working some Astig Balintawak. Looking forward to working this material with my students.
